2024 Wreath Making Workshops

Help create beautiful natural wreaths to decorate the doorways of Deerfield!

Bring your creativity, enthusiasm, and an extra pair of pruning shears to the 2024 Wreath Making Workshops. Choose from five in-person workshops sessions or opt to make your wreath at home. In-person workshops will be limited to 20-30 makers. You must pre-register your participation whether in-person or at-home. No walk-ins will be allowed.

The workshop, pick-up, and drop-off schedule will run from Sunday, December 1, to Wednesday, December 4 at the Deerfield Community Center (see detailed schedule below). There will be two shifts of in-person workshops on Monday, two shifts on Tuesday and one shift on Wednesday. Supply pick-up times will be scheduled on Sunday and Monday and finished wreath delivery on Wednesday.

Please register for your shift or pick-up time online here. If you choose the at-home option, delivery time will be scheduled when you arrive to pick up. Reserve your spot early!

Historic Deerfield provides the primary greens of the wreaths plus a wreath frame and a wire paddle for all makers. In addition, we obtain decorative materials, like winterberry, lemons, oranges, and cranberries, that can be used by all wreath makers. Decorative additions that will last from year-to-year have been saved and will be available for use.

We encourage all wreath makers to bring natural materials they have collected to supplement the supply of decorations. The decorative materials we especially need from volunteers include all the various items that do not last from year-to-year such as holly, arborvitae, winterberry, decorative grasses, dried flowers, pods, and leaves like laurel and gingko.

All volunteers will be assigned a house for their wreath. If you are willing to make matching wreaths for a double door, please indicate that on the form with the question below the door preference list.
